Hi friends!

It’s been a while since I’ve posted so I’m here to give you a little update: I’m in Honduras and I’m living on top of a mountain! It’s beautiful where we‘re living, and the views make life in a tent worth it.

The first thing I learned about the Honduran people is that they’re strong! Seriously, so strong.

We are partnering with a ministry that reaches the villages in the mountains here in Honduras. We are helping them build a church, which involves lots of hiking on the mountain to carry wood and bamboo. It’s hard work. I’ve been so tired at the end of every day.

Yet, a group of people from the village came to greet us our first day here. They had walked over 2 hours just to welcome us and pray for us. And when the church is built they will hike 2 hours to gather and worship the Lord.

Life on a mountain is hard. Everywhere you go is a hike. The elevation makes breathing a little harder. I feel weak every day, and every day I’m in awe of the strength of the Hondurans and grateful for the strength the Lord gives me when I run out.

We are living in our tents at the top of this mountain, with one outhouse for 40+ people. We have 3 cold showers (which are honestly refreshing after a long day). The kitchen staff is constantly working hard to feed all of us, and before we got here they worked hard to clear out spots on the side of the hill so we would have a place to stake our tents. Life on a mountain is hard, but wow is it beautiful. I love the view I have every day and I already love the Honduran people that we get to live with and work with on the mountain.

You might not be hearing from me as often the next couple months considering getting to WiFi means spending an hour off-roading to get down the mountain, but know that I’m thriving and when I can I’ll post updates!

Blessings,

Kaci
