This month we had a team change. Leading up to the team change my heart was on strike. I didn’t want to say goodbye to team J-Walkers. Kayla, Kaitlynn, Kristen and Anna had become my family on the race. The people I trust and could be vulnerable with when things got hard. Four months of doing life and ministry with them was incredible and I wanted them to be my team for the whole race.

But that’s not what God had for me. During our final team debrief, our squad leader (Landry) told us that our team reminded her of the candle sitting on the table. A beautiful sweet aroma. In response, we commented that they’re now blowing our candle out because they’re splitting us up. Our other squad leader (Alex) said they’re not blowing us out but separating us into 5 individual candles and putting us on new teams so our scent can spread throughout the whole squad.

That was a hard thing for me to accept, because I really loved my last team. I loved our scent so to say. Now, a week into my new team I’m already seeing the sweetness in each of my new teammates. Each of the girls I am now living with and doing ministry with are all so sweet and loving and represent Christ in unique ways. This is my new team, we are team Kingdom seekers and already I’m excited to spend the next however many months with these girls:

Amanda:

Amanda is our team leader and she is patient and kind. She leads our team with so much grace and love. She communicates well and very clearly loves Jesus. Her heart for the Lord is contagious amongst the team.

Niecey:

Niecey is so fun and has a fantastic sense of humor. She loves to tell stories and she loves people deeply. Seriously she only ever talks positively about people and her positivity can bring joy to any situation.

Simona:

Simona is wise and gentle. She brings such an incredible perspective to our team and she’s very aware of the people around her. She’s respectful, kind and patient.

Ana

Ana is encouraging and loves sacrificially. She puts others needs above her own and is always willing to lend a helping hand. She’s joyful and introspective and really gets to know the people around her.

Kaitlynn:

Kaitlynn is the one girl from my last team that I get to be on a team with again! She’s humble and kind. She’s got the heart of a servant and seeks The Lord always. She listens well and really hears people’s hearts when they speak.

We are team Kingdom Seekers and our goal as a team is to first seek the kingdom of God through intimacy with Christ so that we can nurture an environment of vulnerability and be a team that is united and loves those around us as well.

Thanks for reading and keep on following my blog to read more about the amazing things God will do through myself and my new team!

Blessings!
